Pediatric & Family Dentistry
A positive dental experience starts in childhood. Our gentle, patient team makes visits fun, comfortable, and stress-free for kids of all ages — and makes scheduling easy for the whole family.
Your child's first dental experiences shape their relationship with oral health for a lifetime. At Summit Ridge Dental, we create a welcoming, kid-friendly environment where children feel safe and comfortable — building positive associations that last. From baby's first tooth to wisdom teeth, our team provides expert care at every stage.
Children's Dental Services
We provide the full range of pediatric dental care including comprehensive exams with age-appropriate digital X-rays, gentle cleanings and fluoride treatments, dental sealants to protect newly erupted molars, cavity detection and tooth-colored fillings, early orthodontic evaluations, custom sports mouth guards, emergency dental care for knocked-out or injured teeth, and nitrous oxide (laughing gas) for anxious young patients.
When Should My Child First See a Dentist?
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends bringing your child for a first dental visit by their first birthday or within six months of their first tooth appearing. These early visits are quick and gentle — focused on establishing comfort, checking for early signs of decay, and educating parents on proper oral care for infants and toddlers.
Making Dental Visits Fun
Our team uses age-appropriate language ("Mr. Thirsty" instead of "suction"), a gentle and patient approach, and lots of positive reinforcement to make every visit a good experience. We never rush a nervous child, and we take time to explain each step before doing it. For children with significant dental anxiety, nitrous oxide provides a safe, calming effect that wears off quickly after the appointment.
Family Block Scheduling
We know how busy family schedules are. That is why we offer family block appointments — schedule cleanings and exams for parents and children during the same time window. Fewer trips, less time out of school and work. Saturday appointments are available at all three locations.
