Porcelain Veneers in Scottsdale, Tempe & Gilbert
Custom-crafted porcelain shells that transform the color, shape, and alignment of your smile — designed by cosmetic specialists with an eye for natural beauty.
Stained, chipped, worn, or slightly crooked teeth can hold you back from smiling with confidence — even if your teeth are otherwise healthy. Years of coffee, wine, and normal wear can dull a smile that once looked great. Teeth whitening only addresses color. Orthodontics only addresses alignment. Porcelain veneers address everything at once.
A veneer is an ultra-thin shell of dental porcelain — typically 0.3 to 0.7 millimeters thick — that is permanently bonded to the front surface of a tooth. Custom-designed and hand-crafted in a dental ceramics lab, each veneer corrects color, shape, size, length, and minor alignment issues simultaneously. The result is a smile that looks naturally beautiful, not obviously "done."
At Summit Ridge Dental, veneers are designed and placed by Dr. Sarah Chen, DDS, FAGD and Dr. Maria Vasquez, DDS — both cosmetic specialists with extensive training in aesthetic dentistry. Dr. Chen brings fellowship-level prosthodontic training from NYU Langone, while Dr. Vasquez is known for her attention to detail and natural artistic sensibility. Together, they design veneer cases that balance clinical precision with artistic vision.
What Porcelain Veneers Can Do for Your Smile
Correct Multiple Flaws at Once
Veneers fix discoloration, chips, gaps, uneven edges, and mild misalignment in a single treatment — no braces, no separate whitening.
Stain-Resistant Porcelain
Unlike natural enamel or composite bonding, porcelain resists staining from coffee, wine, and tea. Your smile stays bright for years.
Natural Light Reflection
Layered ceramic mimics how real enamel interacts with light — giving your veneers a natural translucency that composite cannot replicate.
Durable and Long-Lasting
Modern porcelain veneers last 10 to 20 years with proper care — far longer than composite bonding, which typically lasts 5 to 7 years.
Results in Two Visits
Your smile transformation is complete in just two appointments — preparation and impressions at the first, bonding at the second.
Confidence You Can See
Patients consistently tell us that veneers change more than their smile — they change how they show up in photos, meetings, and conversations.
How Much Do Porcelain Veneers Cost in Scottsdale?
Porcelain veneers at Summit Ridge Dental typically cost between $1,200 and $2,500 per tooth. A full smile set of 6 to 10 veneers ranges from approximately $7,200 to $25,000, depending on the number of teeth treated and the complexity of the case.
Several factors influence the cost: how many teeth are being treated, the type of porcelain used, the amount of preparation required, and whether any supporting treatments (such as gum recontouring or whitening of untreated teeth) are included. Dr. Chen and Dr. Vasquez discuss all of these factors transparently during your cosmetic consultation, so you know the full investment before committing.
Veneers are considered a cosmetic procedure and are typically not covered by dental insurance. However, we offer several ways to make them affordable: CareCredit financing with promotional interest-free periods, Lending Club extended payment plans, and our Summit Savings Plan for uninsured patients, which provides 15% off all treatments.
For patients comparing options, dental bonding offers a lower-cost alternative for minor imperfections. Our Veneers vs. Bonding comparison guide breaks down the differences in cost, durability, and aesthetics.
What Is the Veneer Process Like?
Getting porcelain veneers at Summit Ridge Dental takes two appointments spread over two to three weeks. The first visit involves design planning and tooth preparation; the second is bonding your permanent veneers.
Step 1: Cosmetic Consultation
Your veneer journey begins with a detailed consultation where Dr. Chen or Dr. Vasquez examines your teeth, discusses your goals, and determines how many veneers are needed. We take digital photos, use the iTero scanner to create a 3D model of your mouth, and may create a digital smile preview or a physical wax-up so you can see the projected results before any work begins.
Step 2: Smile Design and Color Selection
Your doctor designs the shape, length, and proportions of each veneer based on your facial features, lip line, and personal preferences. You choose the shade of porcelain together — from bright Hollywood white to a more natural, warm tone. This step is collaborative; you are part of the design process.
Step 3: Tooth Preparation
At your first clinical appointment, a thin layer of enamel (typically 0.3 to 0.7 millimeters) is removed from the front of each tooth to make room for the veneer. This is done under local anesthesia and is completely painless. Digital impressions are taken with the iTero scanner and sent to a master ceramics lab. High-quality temporary veneers are placed to protect your teeth and give you a preview of your new smile.
Step 4: Lab Fabrication (1–2 Weeks)
A skilled dental ceramist hand-layers porcelain to create each veneer, building in the natural translucency and subtle color variations that make the result look like real teeth. This process takes one to two weeks.
Step 5: Bonding
At your second appointment, the temporary veneers are removed and the permanent veneers are tried in. You preview the result in the mirror and approve the fit, color, and shape. Once approved, each veneer is permanently bonded to the tooth with a light-cured adhesive. Final adjustments to the bite are made, and you walk out with your completed smile.
Step 6: Follow-Up
A follow-up visit one to two weeks later ensures your bite is comfortable and the veneers are settling properly. From this point forward, maintain your veneers with regular brushing, flossing, and dental checkups — the same care you give your natural teeth. We also recommend a custom night guard if you clench or grind in your sleep.
Who Is a Good Candidate for Porcelain Veneers?
Veneers are an excellent option for patients who want to address:
Discolored teeth that do not respond to whitening — including tetracycline staining, fluorosis, or darkened teeth from root canal treatment.
Chipped, cracked, or worn teeth that affect the appearance of your smile.
Small gaps between front teeth that you want closed without orthodontics.
Minor crowding or rotation that you want corrected cosmetically rather than with braces.
Uneven, short, or misshapen teeth that make your smile look asymmetrical.
Veneers require healthy underlying teeth and gums. Active decay or gum disease must be treated first. Patients who grind or clench their teeth heavily may need a night guard to protect the veneers. Heavily damaged teeth may be better served by dental crowns, which provide full-coverage support.
Veneers vs. Other Options
Not sure whether veneers, bonding, Invisalign, or whitening is the right approach? A consultation with our cosmetic team will help you compare options side by side. We are transparent about when a simpler or less expensive treatment would serve you just as well.

Porcelain Veneer FAQs
Porcelain veneers at Summit Ridge Dental range from $1,200 to $2,500 per tooth. A full smile set of 6 to 10 veneers costs approximately $7,200 to $25,000. We offer CareCredit financing and Lending Club options to make the investment manageable.
With proper care, porcelain veneers last 10 to 20 years. Avoid biting hard objects like ice or pens, wear a night guard if you grind your teeth, and maintain regular dental checkups. Veneers can be replaced individually if one is ever damaged.
Absolutely. Modern porcelain veneers are designed with layered ceramics that mimic natural tooth enamel. Dr. Chen and Dr. Vasquez custom-match each veneer to your skin tone, face shape, and surrounding teeth. The goal is always a result that looks like naturally perfect teeth, not obviously artificial.
Traditional porcelain veneers require removing a thin layer of enamel, which makes the procedure irreversible — you will always need veneers or another restoration on those teeth. Minimal-prep options are available for some cases and involve less enamel removal. Your doctor will discuss all options during your consultation.
Tooth preparation is performed under local anesthesia, so the procedure itself is painless. You may experience mild sensitivity for a few days after the temporary veneers are placed. Sedation options are also available for patients who feel anxious about the process.
Porcelain veneers are lab-fabricated, stain-resistant, and last 10 to 20 years. Dental bonding uses composite resin applied chairside in one visit and typically lasts 5 to 7 years. Veneers deliver superior aesthetics and durability; bonding is more affordable and works well for minor repairs. See our detailed comparison.
Yes. Many patients place veneers only on the upper front 6 to 10 teeth — the ones visible when you smile. Dr. Chen will evaluate the color match with your lower teeth and may recommend whitening the bottom arch first to ensure a uniform result.
